“For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it.” ~ Jacques Cousteau

Save it & Save Ourselves!

Through the long journey…

… from prehistory to modern times, man’s ingenuity to harness fire and split the atom has defined both us and the planet we live on. We have prospered and grown to levels beyond any other organism in Earth’s history. But we have also inadvertently created great peril for ourselves and the rest of life on earth. Many of us now look at the planet with growing concern. How long can we continue without changing course? Don’t we have a moral obligation to preserve the earth’s natural systems that made our lives so abundant? What kind of world will we leave for our children? The choices we make today will provide the answer.

Evidence is revealed to us daily…

… that the natural systems of the earth have begun to wobble and we are closing in on the point of no return. Every day, more and more people realize this, and that we’ve done this to ourselves. But by knowing this, we therefore also realize, we can undo it. With every presentation of Earth2024, this awareness spreads, motivating people to stand up and fight for the future of our planet, of humanity. There is no time to waste. Will you join us?

“Man did not weave the web of life.  He is merely a strand within it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.” ~ Chief Seattle

What is Earth2024?

Man, one of the newest species on the planet, has reshaped every aspect of Earth’s natural systems. Taking billions of years to form, the delicate balance of nature not only made life possible on earth, but also supports humanity’s rich modern civilization. But this critical balance has become unstable. We see this in headlines and with our own eyes: the droughts and fires, storms and floods, and pollution of the air and seas.  As we step into the 3rd Millennium, what does the future hold for nature, humanity and even our economy, and what can we do about it?

Earth2024, described as a “live documentary,” examines these big issues in a fascinating and original 70-minute multimedia presentation, set to music and narrated live.

What is the goal of Earth2024?

E24’s goal is to spread awareness that drives change. It seeks changes that protect and preserve the living systems of our planet, so that future generations can live and prosper like we and others before us have done.

Everything is connected. And right now, the beginning of the 21st century, is the most critical moment in human history: a moment when we can either save or loose it all.

E24 tells this story of man’s relationship with the earth in a creative, compelling and “human” way that is appreciated by all, scientist and nonscientist alike. It is through knowing this story, that we come to realize what’s at stake. Thus, we are compelled to act with the wisdom the present moment requires.

Reviews of E24:

~ Bill Mckibben, Author (The End of Nature, Falter, Eaarth and many other NYT best sellers), founder of 350.org and world renowned Environmentalist

"A useful and reliable source of information and inspiration!" (12/10/23)

~ Dr. Dickson Cunningham, Professor Earth Science, Eastern Connecticut State University

“Earth2023 provides a global perspective of 21st-Century climate change and man’s impact on the natural environment and our own long-term survival.    It is a powerful, visually impressive, multi-media presentation that is clearly organized, science-based, current, and easy to follow for both academic and non-academic audiences.  The visual content and narrative are upsetting at times, because the rates of climate change and biodiversity loss are indeed upsetting, yet the presentation ends with positive messages about what can be done by individuals, groups and governments, and what is currently being done to minimize the damage to the natural environment and all life on Earth.  All university students would be well-served to attend Earth2023, because for many undergraduates with limited world travel experience, climate change and its impacts are mostly distant phenomena that are less obvious at home.  But, by watching Earth2023, students gain a global perspective of the detrimental effects of a warming planet and appreciate the urgency of action, rather than inaction.  Ken Wolslegel has created an important presentation that forces viewers to think deeply and unselfishly about the life choices we make now and the kind of planet we want our children to inherit.” (11/27/23)

Earth Ambassadors

Earth Ambassadors are people who understand what’s happening to our planet and care enough to do something about it. They are here to share their thoughts and opinions of Earth 2024 (E24) with you! If you are considering booking E24 for your organization, please feel free to reach out via email, to any of the people listed here, and ask them to tell you about E24.

Quote: Sustainability and human well-being are so closely interlinked.  We need a healthy planet to sustain current and future generations. We must consider ways to meet the needs of future generations and species. Earth2024 shines a light on critical issues we face in the modern world. Ken also shares ways to make a meaningful difference towards a sustainable future. Set to music, it is uniquely delivered in a way that feels like watching a live documentary. With a powerful and moving message, you’ll feel inspired to live a greener life and to support a healthy planet for all life on Earth. Our combined efforts can make a big impact!

Additional Earth Ambassadors, representing other colleges / universities will be added here soon.

About:

Ken Wolslegel, Founder

After living in Los Angeles, New Haven, CT and Philadelphia for 20 years, I'm raising my kids in the same nearly 200-year old house I grew up in, in Woodstock, CT. Growing up in the 1970’s and 80’s in a rural place like Woodstock (founded in 1686), meant we took a healthy environment for granted.

For the first half my career, as an environmental scientist, I investigated and worked on cleaning up over 1,000 sites across the U.S. For the next half, I worked in the insurance industry, evaluating the operations of some of the largest contractors and manufacturers in the world, as well as contaminated “Superfund” sites, for coverage with environmental insurance.  AIG was the largest insurance company in the world, and in the early 2000s, I helped them establish their nascent position on climate change and represented them on climate change at industry events.  Climate skepticism was far greater back then and few American corporations even talked about it. Insurance, it turns out, is the industry most impacted by climate change, as they pay the bills from the damages of floods, fires, storms, etc., and those things are all getting much worse with each passing year. Early in my career, I founded a nonprofit organization called Future Earth, which worked with Connecticut schools, teaching about the environment.

Earth 2024 (E24) is the culmination of 40 years of study, work and exploration of the Earth and how humanity is impacting it. We can’t take a healthy environment for granted anymore! We’ve created big problems with our natural world, and I feel as small and helpless to fix them as everyone else does.  But, I've got two kids who need a healthy planet to live on, and so doing nothing isn’t an option.  E24 is my personal effort to inform minds, touch hearts and fight for my kids future. For over three years I’ve done all the research, production, promotion and performance of E24, and for no pay. I could use your help - will you join me?
